2N Native Lock Driver for Crestron Home
The 2N Native Lock driver exposes a 2N IP intercom or access unit as a native Crestron Home Lock. It drives the door strike through the device's switch (relay) output and reports live lock state from the 2N event log, so the door appears as a standard Crestron Home lock tile with proper state, events and PIN user management.
This driver complements the 2N Basic Http Driver hardware interface: use the Native Lock driver when you want a native Crestron Home lock; use the Basic Http Driver for raw switch/IO and SIP call control.
Compatibility
- Crestron Home 4-series projects only (including PC4-R and DIN-AP4-R). 3-series is not supported.
- 2N IP Intercom and 2N Access Unit ranges over a common HTTP API — IP Verso, IP Solo, IP Style, IP One, IP Force, IP Base, IP Uni, Access Unit M and Access Unit 2.0.
- Setup app path: Drivers → Lock → 2N → 2N.
Licence
The driver is a licensed product (SKU LCDCHOME2NLOCK). Enter a licence key during setup; lock commands are
suppressed until the driver is licensed.
The licence key and the hosted product/licence app are managed through the LCD Product MicroApp — see Product MicroApp in LCD Tools. Purchase or manage a key from the LCD web store.
How it works
Lock and unlock energise or de-energise a configured 2N switch (Switch1–Switch4), which releases or holds the door strike. State and access feedback are not simulated — they come from the 2N device's event log, which the driver monitors continuously.
A 2N switch that is active (energised) means the door strike is released — the driver reports this as Unlocked. An inactive switch is reported as Locked. On startup the driver reads the current switch state so the tile reflects reality without waiting for a change.
What the driver reports
| Capability | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Lock control | Lock / Unlock the door via the configured switch. |
| Lock state | Locked / Unlocked, driven by the 2N event log. Unknown until the device reports first. |
| Last lock event | Locked/Unlocked (remote), and Unlocked from keypad attributed to the matching PIN user. |
| Online indicator | Tracks the connection heartbeat to the 2N device. |
| Ready indicator | Set once the driver is configured and ready for commands. |
| Error indicator | Surfaces device faults — switch control failure, door held open too long, unauthorised door open, and unlicensed driver. |
| User management | Add / edit / remove PIN users and access schedules — see User Management. |
